Our annual visit to the Mondello International circuit was filled with sunshine and warmth, although there was some light mist in the early mornings.
A very full entry of over 80 on the Saturday was still at over 70 for the Sunday runs.
In the pre-55’s – our entries were Ken McAvoy (Riley), Ed Cassidy (Iona),Nick Bennett (Sat only), Liam Ruth (Iona replica) – finishing in that order on both days. McAvoy beat the Iona by a mere 1% on fastest time both days.
In the HRCA section, we had Steven Kelly (Mallock), Tommy Doherty (MDTD) Wolfgang Schnittger (Midget), and Mick O’Shea (MGB) (Sat only) again in order of finishing. Our past Members Eyre Massey and Barry Smith also featured.
All cars ran without fault just some minor tweaks.
