Gordon Bennett Reliability Trial
For 2023, the HRCA will co-host the Gordon Bennett Reliability Trial with the Gordon Bennett Reliability Trials Limited for its 120th anniversary run after the immense success of last year, and we cannot wait to see the great horde of classic machines marching through the historic roads around Athy once again. Between the 30th of June and 2nd of July, signed-up participants will be able to take their pre-war cars and bikes along the same route as the very first road racers in Irish history did back in 1903, when Camille Jenatzy won the 527km IV Coupe Internationale.
Just like last year, we will be running across the weekend in the format of a reliability trial; the event shall be judged by distance completed over the weekend through the 90km figure-of-eight course, however we encourage you to take on as much as you feel you can. Short routes and limited runs are designed to ensure that no matter what you feel capable of, you can take part in this tradition.
We would recommend that you read all of the information contained in the image links below in order to make sure you are ready to go for the trial, and from there you can fill in the entry form that is also in there! Completion of the entry form will automatically submit your application, and you will be contacted later regarding payment, which helps us run these events. If the form does not open for you, it is also possible to sign up for entry at the Abbey Hotel on the Friday and Saturday mornings of the event.
So be sure to sign up for 60€, and take part in one of Irish motor racing’s most prestigious traditions!
