Galway Motor Club – Ballyallaban Hill Climb

The event was held in glorious sunshine over 2 days on the 2km Ballyallaban Hill Climb outside Ballyvaughan

The organisation was very good, there were approx. 60 drivers in a variety of cars from F1 type single seaters to Cinquecentos – and in addition to the usual practice run, there were 5 timed runs on both days.

4 HRCA members participated, Wolfgang Schnittger, Ed Cassidy and Donal Morrissy (all class 4), and Eyre Massy (class 3a).

The timing was by beams, and the organisers had interim beams which provided additional information including the highest speed reached on the middle section straight, which was 94 mph for yours truly, but somewhat eclipsed by the 148 mph fastest! And that’s just before a 90 right!
