The HRCA is very honoured to have been chosen by four friends of the late Bosco Quinn to award annually the ‘Bosco Quinn Perpetual Trophy’.
Bosco was a key part of the Jordan Grand Prix story, working with the team from 1985 until his untimely death in 1991. Previously he raced in Formula Ford in Mondello Park and as far away as the Nürburgring. His brother Mick Quinn has written a book ‘My Model Mother’ which includes a chapter about Bosco and the enormous contribution he made to Jordan from Formula 3 through to the building of the Formula 1 factory beside Silverstone – which was dedicated to him in recognition of the major contribution Bosco made to the team and in the building of the factory.
All who had contact with Bosco, spoke about his huge interest in the sport and his ability to communicate and especially help all around him.
The first award of the Trophy was made at the Mondello Park Leinster Trophy meeting on 13th September 2025. In attendance were three of the friends who co-ordinated the project, Tom Nolan, Jamie Kent and Eamonn Murphy – Phyllis Daly was unable to attend on the day. Family members present were siblings Miriam Wulff and Mick Quinn and Bosco’s friend Martin McCarthy.
The Trophy was accepted on behalf of the HRCA by its Secretary Eamonn Henry and Chairman William Fenton, and other Committee Members and ordinary Members present. Martin McCarthy and Mick Quinn spoke about Bosco’s life and times and some tears were shed.
Bosco’s sister, Miriam Wulff, presented the Trophy to the first winner Wolfgang Schnittger. Wolfgang accepted the Trophy and acknowledged the prestige and meaning of the Trophy and how it will be carried forward as a remembrance of Bosco into the future.
